January progress

Posted on February 1, 2015. Filed under: Monthly progress |

This last month I added considerably to the growing collection of platform and track railwayana.

??????????       Culrain railwayana

I made the small piece of track (mounted on 18mm MDF and 4mm cork as on the layout) in order to experiment with the height and position of the token exchange apparatus. The columns are mounted on balsa bases painted to represent concrete, and the small wooden platform on the up side lifts off to allow the point rodding to be installed. I look forward to receiving a parcel of Brassmasters etchings, as described by Steve Hall in MRJ 115.

In the latter part of the month, I turned my attention to post and wire fencing. I continued to make the fence panels on thick card for installation in prepared slots in the landscape. Unfortunately, I need to re-make some of the slots, which were unsuitable. It’s all part of the learning process.
