There are several small garden areas on Culrain’s Up platform marked out by individually placed stones and filled with soil for planting. By the bench seat, for example, and either side of the waiting shelter. And there are many stones used as weights, or ornaments, in or around the cottage. For instance, to prop open the garage gates, or placed by a step or door.

??????????      Graded scale-size stones from 0.5mm to 3mm

Here is a selection of stones from rocks of various types, such as gneiss, quartz and sandstone, which might find a home around the layout. I knew one day my “Highland Landforms” book by Robert J. Price would come in handy.
