November progress

Posted on December 1, 2014. Filed under: Monthly progress |

Five telegraph poles, six gates and some fencing. And more slots in the scenery to install the various gates and fences around the station yard and Station Cottage.

Scenery 11 141120       Almost ready to install

Kyle of Sutherland has nine gates (only two are the same) and about six feet of paling fence. I used Ratio 431 00/HO Gauge GWR Station Fencing where I could as the basis for wooden gates and fencing, modifying as appropriate, and scratch built the rest. This past month I scratch built two gates from metal and two from plasticard, and modified some Ratio fencing to create another two.

Off the peg fencing is extremely uniform, so I made a scratch length of fencing right at the front of the layout, from the Station Cottage outbuildings to the garage, to give some variability as in the prototype.

It’s about time I started installing, or planting, a few things this month.
