June progress

The scenery is now well and truly underway, which also means ensuring at each stage that everything is in the right place. Such as telegraph poles.

There are five telegraph poles to be modelled on Kyle of Sutherland. Comparing the above with a 1948 prototype photograph, it’s clear that No 4 needs moving in a tad, and also the Up Starter. However, the viewpoint is a little high, so correcting that would also raise the signal above the footbridge as in the prototype view.

Altogether a good month: a new loco has been started, the siding is extended and more than twenty percent of the twenty square feet of egg-box contours are in place.

I’m really enjoying this phase of the modelling.
