Pendon power

Posted on September 29, 2013. Filed under: Project progress |

I’ve long been a fan of Pendon’s achievements, and am a loyal Friend. No surprise then that I should attend Gordon and Maggie Gravett’s Masterclass: Modelling Trees at Pendon yesterday. And it certainly lived up to expectations.

Trees 1 130929       Emergent Culrain Elm tree

There’s a fineness in the techniques that Gordon and Maggie use that can produce model trees well up to Pendon standard. They are not quick to make, but this tree is well on the way to becoming Kyle of Sutherland’s first Elm behind the Up platform. With Maggie’s help, I even rescued an earlier tree and hedge cameo from the scrap heap. And that should soon find its way to the hedgerow alongside the road to Carbisdale Castle.
